This Tampa Film Blog will serve as a supplement to my main Tampa Film Blog web site. It will voice opinions and anecdotes about the status of the Tampa indie film community, and will focus on the its truggle to start and grow a professional indie film community.
Presently, there is no Tampa indie film community. It is a disorganized film scene with fractured factions and poor quality amateur indie films being made.
The Tampa indie film scene is pathetic. This is going to change.
What little of the Tampa indie film scene which IS organized is controlled by a self-serving Tampa indie film clique who have been pretending to be a Tampa indie film community. There are a lot of shady politics involved with these aspiring amateur filmmakers, film festival organizers, and crazed film fans. There is a lot of ass kissing. Worse of all, if genuine professionals do try to get involed with what is being marketed as a Tampa indie film community, the insecurities of the Tampa indie film community inspire them to discriminate against the professional and spread rumors about them in an attempt to undermine or outright destroy their credibility. This cripples the Tampa indie film scene and prevents any professional Tampa indie film community from starting or growing. Very little has been accomplished because of these unethical, unprofessional fakes.
Anyway, I will post a new post about what is wrong with the Tampa indie film scene on the Tampa Film Blog web site soon. Professionals are going to organize and work together to drive the clique from power. Things are going to change.
